This is a reproduction of a North East Coast, Spiral Type gold stater. Struck by the Corieltauvi tribe. You will see the spiral underneath the horse and it is so clear. The original coin dates to about 70-50BC
Ref: Ancient British Coins 1740, Van Arsdell 807, British Museum Catalogue 211, Spink 29.
It is a rare type of coin and this reproduction is the exact colour of the original and has not been gold plated, hence the slightly lower price. It has been sprayed with a special gold colour paint.
A better picture is to follow in a day or so.
