No 620  - Romano-Celtic Strap Mount

“Sub-rectangular harness or strap mount based on Celtic ‘trumpet’ motif. The design consists of two S-shapes and two semi-circles, all with trumpet shaped terminals. The reverse has two round pins for attachment, now broken. The Trompetenmuster style is common on Roman bronze mounts and other small items during the 2nd century and at least the first half of the third. A buckle plate from Newstead is of similar shape and design and probably dates from the Antonine period”
