Number 679 - Denarius of Antoninus Pius

Number 679 - Denarius of Antoninus Pius:  This is a commemorative coin struck by

Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus after his death. 

The obverse shows a bare head of the emperor facing right. The  obverse inscription

reads “DIVVS ANTONINVS” 

The reverse reads “CONSECRATIO” and shows a funeral pyre surmounted by Antoninus

in a quadriga.  It is Sear 1302 and will be priced at £1.50.
