No 423 - Roman Figure of Harpocrates No 423 - Roman Figure of Harpocrates, 77 mm height, weight 60 grams. This figure is that of Harpocrates the son of Isis (a moon and fertility goddess) and Sarapis (god of the sky and death) and is a very rare find in Britain. The winged boy figure shows his index finger touching his lips which the Romans interpreted as self-nourishment or symbolic of silence. No date range given but probably 2-3rd century.
