No 322 - Roman Sestertius of Julia Mamaea

Julia Mamaea was the daughter of Julia Maesa and mother of Severus Alexander. This fine, large sestertius shows Julia Mamaea on the obverse with the inscription IVLIA MAMA - EA AVGVSTA. 

The reverse shows Felicitas standing left with legs crossed and leaning on a column, holding a caduceus in her right hand. The reverse legend reads FELICITAS PVBLICA SC.
