No 245 - Sestertius of Hadrian

No 245 - Sestertius of Hadrian: This coin dates to AD 119 and was minted in Rome. The original was made of  Orichalcum which is an alloy of copper and zinc. It is 34 mm in diameter. 

The obverse side shows the  emperor’s laureate head right, drapery on left shoulder. The obverse legend reads  IMP CAESAR TRAIANVS HADRIANIVS AVG 

The reverse shows Roma seated left on cuirass, holding Victory and spear, shield behind. The reverse legend reads: PONT MAX TR POT COS III, SC in exegue. 

The coin is RIC 562b; RCV 3622 (2002 edition)
